21 Good Reasons to Think About Alternative or Second Citizenship and Passport

21 Good Reasons to Think About Alternative or Second Citizenship and Passport

Our world is changing dramatically and holding a passport of specific nation or country can be challenging if not dangerous nowadays and is definitely connected to some restrictions. Here is a brief list of such exposures:

1. Political or economic situation in your home country makes travel on your current passport difficult.

2. Your assets are the target of litigation or you are burdened by taxation.

3. Your basic human rights or travel is restricted by your citizenship.

4. You are not allowed to work, do business, buy property or land overseas or settle in another country.

5. Your assets, freedom of movement and even life are threatened by your country’s economical or political situation.

6. You are subject to persecution for your religious or political beliefs or for pursuing certain harmless activities.

7. Your current citizenship and passport can make you exposed for hijackers and terrorists.

8. Your current passport could be revoked, confiscated or suspended for some reasons.

9. You can be a subject to tax on your worldwide income, currency controls or other confiscation measures.

10. Your state controls, restricts or monitors your travels or private or business activities.

11. Your present passport causes you delays, harassment or denies at any border.

12. You need visas to visit places where you want to go or stay.

13. Your citizenship forces you into unwanted military or other burden obligations.

14. You are identified as a citizen of an unpopular, immoral, aggressive or despotic state.

15. Your passport needs to be renewed or validated frequently.

16. Limited freedom to invest your money when and where you please.

17. You belong to the “wrong” country, like ex-Yugoslavia, Iraq, Iran, North Korea etc.

18. You cannot invest in the foreign stock markets or offshore mutual funds without restriction or hindrance.

19. You would like to insure a freedom of movement, residence, business of choice for yourself, your dependants etc.

20. You simply would like to open a new opportunities and guarantee a certain freedom and choice for yourself or your dependants.

21. You just would like to have a right for employment in another country which is not available now or permission is difficult to obtain.

There, of course, can be other reasons to gain another passport. You may possibly have a passport from a country that has travel restrictions imposed upon it, and this can be frustrating to say the least. For example:

* Many Chinese are desperately looking for a way to get out of their country, and/or to ease travel restrictions.

* Many US citizens do not like the idea of being enslaved to the IRS worldwide, regardless where they may choose to live. Also they may not like being targeted by terrorists because of irresponsible actions by their immature government.

* Many Western Europeans feel that during these turbulent times, it may be a good idea to nurture their plans for an additional insurance policy against difficult times ahead.

* Many Russians and Eastern Europeans are tired of having to queue to get visas all the time, and being treated as second class individuals by many, just because of their nationality.

* Many Africans and Latin Americans have tasted a bit of freedom but it doesn’t seem like they are free all the time as crazy governments and extreme travel restrictions make it very hard to get around.

With passport from one of the EU countries you are free to work, live and do business in any of the 27 member states of the European Union.

You may qualify to obtain your documents free through ethnic background, ancestry or religion in Brazil, China, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America etc.

Another way is to get an alternative passport by registration, by descent, via marriage or naturalization. In some countries you can be eligible for your 2nd passport in just 6 months after residence application and there is no need to spend this time in the country! There is an option for a 2nd passport and citizenship virtually for everyone who is seriously interested.

Suzuki Increases Presence in the Middle East

Files under lebanon | Leave a Comment

The Suzuki Motors Corp. (SMC), one of the largest Japanese automakers, has announced that it will implement an aggressive strategic marketing plan that covers the release of new vehicle types to boost auto sales and consolidate its share in the Middle East.

The automaker earlier gathered all its dealers in the Middle East to tackle about the strategic plan and bring together insights on how to better customize their cars and after-sales services so as to meet the growing demand of the customers. The Suzuki Strategic Regional Meeting was held at the Le Meridien Hotel in Dubai.

Kazuyuki Yamashita, the SMC’s Deputy Staff Manager for the Middle East & Africa Marketing Group, said, “The Middle East is a very important market to Suzuki and has always proved to be full of success for the Japanese brand. Our new models are tailor-made to enhance comfort and efficiency, characters that we believe will further uplift Suzuki’s brand image in the region as we prepare to launch more cars.”

Yamashita added, “We are confident we can carry forward the momentum generated from the success of all our initiatives into our new offerings. As we have done with our previous successful ventures, Suzuki will continue to manufacture cars that relate to their owners, promoting the Suzuki experience as a way of life.” The automaker is expected to build redesigned vehicles as well as new cars. Auto parts like the knock sensors are also expected to be refined.

The meeting was held to foster harmonious relationship between the automaker and its dealers at the same time to unite the efforts of the latter. They are all geared towards improving the image of the Japanese automaker and offering superb opportunities for the new vehicles through a unified marketing, advertising and PR campaign throughout the territory.

Suzuki and its dealers also tackled about strategies to successfully vie in the automotive market. They also formulated a fixed plan for 2007. The plan includes a promotional and advertising campaign for its new product lines that would last for six months. These strategies are all part of the automaker’s struggle to promote the Suzuki brand as a ‘way of life.’

Mustafa Karam & Sons from Kuwait, the Sabeha Trading Corp and Suzuki Yemen Co. from Yemen, the Al Rostamani Trading Company from the UAE, the Bamarouf Group Suzuki Saudiah from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan & Co. from Oman, the G.A. Bazerji & Sons Co. from Lebanon and Al Hadaya Motors from Syria, The Commercial & Industrial Co. from Jordan, Bahrain’s Mohammed Jalal & Sons, and the Teyseer Motors from Qatar are some of the SMC dealers that sent representatives to the recently held Suzuki Strategic Regional Meeting.

Should I still go to Lebanon the country even though the swine flu is there?

Files under lebanon | 5 Comments

My parents bought tickets to Lebanon a few months ago and we are suppost to go to Lebanon from July third to July 23. The problem is that the swine flu has reached Lebanon and I am speculating if I should go or not. I really don't want my parents to be sad, because they haven't seen their families in 5 years, but at the same time, I don't want to risk my life. What should I do?

P.S. I can't go for the next two years, because my mom is going to be busy with her nursing school.

Swine flu is probably in every country whether they know it or not. Don't cancel your vacation just stick to some basic tips to help keep you from contracting any sort of illness.

1. Avoid contact with others if you, or they, are sick.
2. Stay at home when you are ill.
3. Shield your sneezes and coughs with a tissue, if one is not handy it is better to sneeze or cough into your upper sleeve rather than your hands.
4. Wash your hands often.
5. Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.
6. Maintain healthy habits- get plenty of sleep and exercise, keep hydrated and eat well.

I would also recommend bringing a large bottle of hand sanitizer with you as well for when you don't have soap and water handy.

Can the Usa and UK Politically Win the War on Terror?

Files under lebanon | 2 Comments

The War on Terrorism, (also called the Global War on Terrorism) is the name of a campaign with the stated goal of ending international terrorism by preventing those groups said to be terrorist in nature from posing a threat, and by putting an end to state sponsorship of terrorism. This can be in any country anywhere in the world.

Everyday on the news is one disaster after another, often linked to the War on Terror. We have Somalia now being run by the Islamic Court which the Ethiopians dont like so they have invaded towns on the border, ongoing problems in Chechnya and the worsening situations in Iraq and Afganistan.

George Soros thinks that the War on Terror is a false metaphor. It has been used by the Bush administration to further its own objectives, but those objectives are opposed to the principles of open society and harmful to the national interest.

The allies have killed more innocent civilians in Iraq than the terrorists killed on 9/11. In addition to killing, we have also humiliated and tortured many Iraqis. By creating innocent victims, we have advanced the terrorists cause.

Why are we hated? Not because terrorists hate democracy but because they hate arrogant idiots who think they know better. Terrorists are only defeated when the large majority of the community feel that they can trust the local authorities to maintain law and order and work for the common good. Then ordinary people will turn the terrorists in to the authorities when, or even before, they strike. In countries such as Iraq where the police and army often consist of Al Qaeda and other militants sympathisers it makes the job even more difficult. The availability of army and police uniforms on the open market and those sold by corrupt officers means that ordinary people are afraid to stop at the checkpoints in case they are militants dressed as the authorities.

Osma bin Ladens purpose for the 9/11 attack was (and is) to provoke massive retaliation from the US against Islam. He hoped that our retaliation would finally unite Islam against the US as a common enemy, and that his vision for a fundamentalist pan-Islamic state would sweep away all the more moderate governments in the region.

One of the Western Allies, Israel was recently subjected to the kidnap of two of its soldiers by Hezbollah militants based in Lebanon, this led to a month long way in which Israel was silently and invisibly encouraged to continue the War on Terror on behalf of the USA in the Middle East. Why did the USA care how long the war went on for as none of their soldiers or civilians where dying? The destruction on Lebanons infrastructure including water and electricity utilities was a crime against humanity, how can this destruction and harm against the civilian population ever bring them to forgive Israel and the West?

If this destruction was intended just to weaken the Lebanon state and prevent the movement of Hezbollah then this short sightedness has lead to the long term poverty, struggle and hatred of the allies by the general population. Many of whom have now aligned themselves with Hezbollah for defending their homeland of Lebanon.

Finally back to Iraq where recently Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to death and the problems seem to go on and on. We need to remember the old saying that one mans terrorist is another mans freedom-fighter. Until we fully understand this saying and the tools and strategies for dealing with it…. The war on terror will become the old war on communism… and that lasted for nearly 50 years.

Travelling to Lebanon as a tourist? What do I need to know?

Files under lebanon | 5 Comments

I am hoping to visit my boyfriend in Lebanon this summer. He is there on his summer vacation. Later today, I am leaving to take my own summer vacation to Serbia (which is where I'm originally from). I would be travelling to Lebanon from Serbia with a Canadian passport. What difficulties could I possibly run into? Do I need a Visa? Do we need to pretend that we're engaged?

All you need to know is how to smile , the rest will just come to you….

As far as a visa is concerned you can either arrange one from your nearest Lebanese Embassy or Consul or get it at the airport on your way in….I always get one at home to save time on arrival…

Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences, (14) the Colors

Files under lebanon | Leave a Comment

One of the expanded dogmas of mankind is that the Quran is quoted or borrowed from the Bible. This creed is established upon studies of many prejudiced intellectual scholars

In this series of articles (1-14), it is obvious that the Quran is quite different from the Bible. It is also very clear that the Noble Quran preceded the sciences in many aspects.

In the present topic of the Colors, the smart reader will answer easily the fake dogmatic question: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?

Before dealing with the topic of the Different Colors in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is essential to remember that the total words of the Bible are 788,280 while total words of the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times the Quran to talk about the Different Colors word-wise.

The colors are mentioned eight times in the Bible and six times in the Quran.

The Colors in the Bible:

The first four verses talk about “Dark-colored lambs or animals”

Genesis 30:32

Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb and every spotted or speckled goat. They will be my wages.

Genesis 30:33

And my honesty will testify for me in the future, whenever you check on the wages you have paid me. Any goat in my possession that is not speckled or spotted, or any lamb that is not dark-colored, will be considered stolen.”

Genesis 30:35

That same day he removed all the male goats that were streaked or spotted, and all the speckled or spotted female goats (all that had white on them) and all the dark-colored lambs, and he placed them in the care of his sons.

Genesis 30:40

Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban’s animals.

The fifth verses talks about colorful garments.

Judges 5:30

‘Are they not finding and dividing the spoils: a girl or two for each man, colorful garments as plunder for Sisera, colorful garments embroidered, highly embroidered garments for my neck— all this as plunder?’

The sixth verse talks about stones of various colors

1 Chronicles 29:2

With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God—gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise, stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble—all of these in large quantities.

The seventh verse talks about Egyptian colored linens

Proverbs 7:16

I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt.

The eighth verse talks about an Eagle’s plumage of varied colors.

Ezekiel 17:3

Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: A great eagle with powerful wings, long feathers and full plumage of varied colors came to Lebanon. Taking hold of the top of a cedar,

That is all about the colors in the Bible.

The Colors in the Quran:

Surah 16:13

And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colors (and qualities): verily in this a Sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).

This verse talks about everything on the Earth and their different colors and considers that these different colors are signs made by Allah the Almighty Creator for people who celebrate the praises of The Almighty Creator.

This deep meaning about the significance of the different colors is not found in the Bible.

Surah 16:69

Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colors, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.

In this verse, Allah commanded the Bees to eat from the earth products, and then they manufacture for us a liquid of different colors that has healing effects.

Again, this sense is not present in the Bible.

In addition, the verse preceded the sciences in respect to the medical values of Bees’ products. See my articles: “Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences Array (2) the Bees” and “Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences, Array (3) the Honey”

Surah 30:22

And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colors; verily in that are Signs for those who know.

This verse talks about the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in man’s languages and colors. The verse considers these variations in man’s languages and colors as signs made by Allah the Almighty Creator for people who know.

Unfortunately, some intellectual people did not praise Allah for such signs but categorized human according to their colors and put down the black colored man.

How many crimes committed because of color discrimination!

Here again, this connotation is not found in the Bible.

Surah 35:27and 28

27] Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky? With it We then bring out produce of various colors. And in the mountains are tracts white and red, of various shades of color, and black intense in hue.

28] And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colors. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.

These two verse talk about the importance of the rain as regards to the earth products (the Plant kingdom) that have different colors. Also, the verses talk about the different colors of the mountains and the different colors of the animal kingdom. The verses say that these different colors are signs made by Allah the Almighty Creator for people who have knowledge.

The top of the knowledge is to know that Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.

This global view and very deep meaning about the value variations of colors of all the creatures on the earth is not found in the Bible.

Surah 39:21

Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and leads it through springs in the earth? Then He causes to grow, therewith, produce of various colors: then it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then He makes it dry up and crumble away. Truly, in this, is a Message of remembrance to men of understanding.

This verse describes our life in a real parable that we see it everyday. Our life is like the earth products, starts beautifully with different colors then withers gradually then dries up and crumbles away. This is our “limited” life on earth which is the preparatory stage to our “unlimited” afterlife.

It is really and truly “a Message of remembrance to men of understanding.”

Again, this very deep implication is not found in the Bible.

Now, I think it is easy to answer this forged doctrinaire question: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?

The Honey in the Sacred Books

Files under lebanon | Leave a Comment

One of the inherited doctrines of mankind is that the Quran is quoted or borrowed from the Bible. This Dogma is established upon studies of many prejudiced intellectuals which mischief mankind.

In this series of articles, I will try to explore this Dogma on scientific basis to show up that it is forged.

If we study any topic in Quran versus Bible, we will observe the immense dissimilarities in both. If we link such dissimilarities to the sciences, we will realize that sciences are in favor of the Noble Quran.

In the topic of Honey, one may ask this:

Is the Quran quoted from the Bible? And which book look good with sciences? The book which talks about the Purification and the healing effects of Honey or the book which talks about the lips of the strange woman that drops as a honeycomb?

Before dealing with the topic of the Honey in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to give some statistical hints.

The total words in the Bible are 788,280 while total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise. In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times than the Quran to present its topics.

Back to the Honey, it is mentioned in the Bible 61 times and two times in the Quran.

Honey in the Bible

Honey is mentioned in the Bible 61 times

In 20 out of these 61 verses, the bible describes Canaan as a “land flowing with milk and honey” e.g.

Exodus 3:8

So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

Exodus 3:8

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Honey and the lips of a strange woman

Proverbs 5:3

For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

One does not know the relation between the lips of a strange woman and the Honey.

Honey and the lips of spouse:

Song of Solomon 4:11

Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

Proverbs 16:24

Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Upon asking many orthopedic doctors, they deny any relation between the pleasant words and health to the bones.

Song of Solomon 5:1

I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.

In this verse, there is an invitation of friends for food that is comprised of

honeycomb, honey; wine, milk and spice and attended by his sister and his spouse

In New Testament it is interesting to know that John the Baptist wore camel’s hair and subsisted on locusts and honey (Matthew 3:4)

Honey in Quran

Honey is mentioned two times in the Quran, the honey that we use is described in the Quran as a part of the bees’ products while the honey that we have not yet used is described in the Quran as the PURE honey that is present in the paradise.

Honey as a part of the bees’ products

This is the honey present in our life

The Quran describes the process of its formation by bees and the medical values of it and of the other bees’ products.

Surah 16:68-69

“And your Lord revealed the FEMALE Honeybee; build homes in mountains, and trees, and in the hives people built for you.

16-The Honeybee, then to eat of all the produce and fruits (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a fluid of varying colors (and tastes and characters), wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who are thinking”.

The verses not only describe Honey but all the Bees products.

The four main products from the bees are:- Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen, Propolis and Honey.

They have been used for last few centuries by civilizations around the world to treat a wide variety of ailments and medical conditions.

They are multipurpose substances that in some forms can be applied externally to the skin and in other forms ingested as a food or supplement.

Bee Products are Mother Nature’s most incredible gift to our planet, packed with vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids, bee products may provide us with essential nutrition to help with our fast-paced lifestyles.

It follows that the Quran tells us about the healing effects and the medical values of the Bees products that include the Honey.

On the other hand, the Bible says nothing about the Bees products and about their healing effects.

Honey in the afterlife:

In Surah 47:15, Honey is mentioned as a gift to the righteous which believe in Allah.

“(Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits; and Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell forever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)”.

This verse gives us some honorable, belief and scientific hints e.g,

1. The fate of the righteous who believe in Allah is described in short.

2. The incorruptible water and the milk of which the taste never changes indicate that there will be no bacteria in the Paradise.

3. The fate of the unbelievers will be the dwelling forever in the Fire and…

Back to the Honey, the verse tells us in an indirect way about the process of purification of Honey. Since the top kind of Honey will be in the Paradise, and that Honey is pure and clean, hence, we have to look for the methods that purify Honey in our life.

In short, the Quran tells us about the purification of Honey and about the healing effects of the Honey and the other bees’ products.

On the other hand, the Bible never tells that.

Hence, one fair intellectual person has to answer this Dogmatic question:

“Does the Quran quoted or borrowed from the Bible? And which book looks good with sciences? The book which talks about the Purification and the healing effects of Honey and the Bees ‘products or the book which talks about the lips of the strange woman that drop as an honeycomb?. ”
